What is the meaning of flushing goods in international logistics?
In international trade, all imported and exported goods need to be truthfully declared to the Customs. However, some goods, such as charged products, branded goods or lack of formal import and export documents, it is difficult to declare in accordance with the formal process, so some people take false reporting, concealment and other improper means of import and export operations, this behaviour is known as the washout.
The common way of flush goods
Mixing and hiding: mixing prohibited goods with ordinary goods (sofa, boxing target wall) in an attempt to muddle through customs.
Concealment of the pin: For example, without authorisation, the goods with a licence will be falsely declared as unlicensed ordinary goods for export.
Changing the name of the goods: In order to avoid the strict inspection of certain special goods (e.g. electrically charged products, A-risk goods), the name of the goods is intentionally changed.
Understatement of the value of goods: deliberately understate the value of goods to reduce the customs shui, such as the value of tens of thousands of yuan of goods according to a few thousand yuan declaration.
Consequence of Dashing goods
General trade import and export:
If seized by the relevant departments, the goods will be detained and may face liability.
Express parcel shipments:
If the goods do not pass inspection in China, they can usually be returned, but it takes longer.
Using international postal services such as EMS, even if it fails abroad, it can often be returned free of charge, but it takes longer.
When using commercial couriers such as FedEx, UPS, etc., if it fails inspection, it can be returned but at the expense of high return shipping costs, which are borne by the sender.
Rushing is essentially a high-risk behaviour. Although sometimes it can be successful, but once discovered, will face huge losses. Therefore, it is recommended that enterprises and individuals abide by the rules in international trade and avoid the use of improper means, such as washout, in order to avoid losing more than they gain.
