Customs clearance refers to the goods in a country customs, import and export or transit, need to follow the laws and regulations of a procedure process, another saying is also called customs clearance, goods during customs clearance, are under the supervision of the customs, is not free circulation. Since there will be delays in customs clearance, what are the reasons?

The product itself

(1) Prohibited entry products: All countries in the world have their own prohibited entry products, such as drugs, guns, ammunition, weapons, etc., all countries in the world are prohibited entry. Almost every country restricts animals and plants, meat and books; Chinese herbs are banned in the US; Britain bans milk and meat products; Singapore bans e-cigarettes; Upon arrival at the customs of the destination country, prohibited goods will be detained by customs or returned directly.

(2) The products are brand-name and infringing products: protected by intellectual property rights. When selling products, you must have brand authorization. After these products enter the country, the customs department will ask for a brand authorization letter. If not, customs clearance will be delayed, the customs will deduct the goods, or even directly order the return.

(3) The goods are powder, liquid, charged and other sensitive goods: it must be clear that powder, liquid, electromagnetic, solid and other sensitive goods, customs inspection probability is higher than ordinary goods, customs clearance time is longer than ordinary goods, these products customs clearance, general delay, it is recommended that the seller before sending these products, must ask whether the recipient has the ability to customs clearance.

Agent or owner's own reasons

(1) The complete information of the goods is not standardized and incomplete: The agent or shipper itself is incomplete in the information and documents, such as the product quantity is incorrect, the product name is randomly filled in (such as the product itself is a shoe, the declared product name is called clothing), the declared value is inconsistent with the actual value (many sellers have done this practice, in order to let the recipient pay less tax or tax exemption, the declared value of the commodity is lower, but if it is too outrageous, Will attract the attention of customs, resulting in delays in customs clearance). If the commercial invoice is incomplete, the sender needs to provide a new, complete commercial invoice.

(2) Logistics transportation mode: In order to save freight and earn the freight difference of the recipient, the seller chooses the logistics transportation channel with cheap price and long transportation time. The cheaper the price, the longer the transit time, the slower the customs processing speed, the more likely the goods are lost.

Customs cause

(1) Customs routine inspection: The customs conducts routine inspection of the goods. If your goods are spot-checked, you can only wait without any assistance from the recipient. Routine inspection can generally be completed within 1-3 working days. If customs deems the goods to be all right, it will be released.

(2) Taxation: The customs believes that the declared value of your goods does not match the actual situation, and the recipient needs to clear the customs. If your declared value is the same as the value of the goods, but customs thinks it is different, you can clear customs with proof of the value of the goods. If the declared value of your goods is inconsistent with the actual situation and customs finds it low or high, the recipient is required to pay the duty.

Recipient reason

(1) Unwilling to pay taxes: the goods need to pay taxes, taxes are too high or taxes exceed the value of the goods themselves, the recipient is unwilling to pay high taxes, does not pay customs clearance, the goods are stored in the customs, after the expiration of customs clearance, by the customs auction or return.

(2) The recipient does not have relevant documents: if the recipient does not have an import license, the recipient is unable to provide the required customs clearance documents, resulting in delayed customs clearance of the goods.

(3) Scam buyers: Some foreign scam buyers, in order to get the goods for free, deliberately do not clear customs, do not pay taxes, so let the goods have been stored, and then deal with the seller's tax issues.

Other reasons

(1) Environment: such as customs strikes, port workers strikes, airport workers strikes, logistics staff strikes; Or natural disasters, wars.

(2) Policy: Some countries have slow customs clearance speed, slow customs clearance efficiency, and complicated customs clearance procedures, such as Brazil. Or how the corresponding national policy requires customs clearance.
